Dancehall music received a lot of attention between May to June 2016. One major issue was the nature of arrangements and agreements regarding several dancehall artiste being featured on Hip Hop artiste Drake's album. Dancehall has surely come a long way in terms of popularity and the changing demands for it. Within the last ten years multiple major artistes from overseas have done collaborations with Jamaican Dancehall artistes. This is not new to Dancehall history  however there has been a dramatic increase in the number of collaborations. It is a known fact that within Dancehall there are many artistes who have a challenge  when it comes to leaving the country or travelling in general. Although this has limited opportunities for Dancehall artiste it surely has not stopped overseas performers from coming to Jmaica to do collaborations or finding other means to get them done.
